Donations

The Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad's primary source of funds is contributions from the residents we serve. The volunteers who put in time and training thank those who volunteer to provide financial support. But, we must raise the money to fund the total budget each and every year. It is your gifts alone that allow us to provide you, your family, and your neighbors with state-of-the-art pre-hospital care.

Frankly, costs for emergency medical supplies are rising faster than inflation. Furthermore, in order to keep up with advances in technology, we are forced to ask you for more generous donations this year.

Free Service? Nobody Pays?

Exactly. When the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad responds, we render whatever emergency services are needed without regard to whether or not a person is able to contribute financially. In addition to emergency service we also provide free routine ambulance service. Later, a request for a donation is mailed out but there is never a mandatory charge for our services and there never will be as long as the Rescue Squad remains a volunteer, non-profit organization.

More money?

Yes! If you have donated to our other fund raising activities, you have already helped us and we thank you. This year we are faced with increasing demands for our services with a parallel increase in operating expenses. If you have never given before or even if you have contributed previously, now is the time to consider what a free rescue service means to you and your community. If you have contributed earlier in the year, any additional financial support would be greatly appreciated, allowing us to continue to provide quality service to you. Of course, your donation to the Rescue Squad continues to be tax deductible as allowed by the IRS. The Rescue Squad is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
