Around 1335 hours on the afternoon of Saturday July 21, Rescue Company 2 was dispatched for multiple reports of a vehicle overturned on the Capitol Beltway. First arriving units found a single car which had flipped over the Jersey barrier from the inner loop onto the outer loop and came to rest on the passenger side. The sole occupant was unable to remove themselves from the vehicle. Rescue Squad 742 arrived on scene and began stabilization with Paratech struts and wedges, then tied back with chains to Truck 706. The Squad and Truck crew then cut the A, B, and C posts of the sedan and folded down the roof, obtaining access to the occupant. The EMS units on scene then evaluated and transported the patient to a local hospital. The squad crew packed up their tools and returned to service.
