At approximately 0355 hours on the morning of Sunday, December 04, 2011, Montgomery County Emergency Communications dispatched a report of a house fire on the 4600 block of Edgefield Road in Kensington. Engine 705 arrived on scene first to find fire and smoke showing from the rear side of a rancher-style house. Rescue Squad 742B arrived shortly thereafter and entered the residence. They searched the main floor and then the basement, and confirmed that all occupants were out of the house. They then turned off the electric and gas services to the house. The crew completed these tasks in only 10-15 minutes. The squad soon returned to service.
