Vehicle into a House on Veirs Mill Road

by Matt Jorge
In the early morning hours of Monday, September 19th, Rescue 2 units were alerted for a vehicle collision on the 11600 block of Veirs Mill Road with a report of a tractor trailer into the house.  Rescue Squad 742 and Ambulance 742F responded along with KVFD Engine 705B.  RS742 arrived on scene first and found that a Mercedes SUV had been struck by an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer.  The tractor trailor then lost control, ran up into the front yard of a single family house, and struck a parked SUV, which then slammed into the front of the house.  Luckily the homeowner sleeping in the front bedroom was unharmed.  Units assessed the occupants of the vehicles and found no major injuries.  Police remained on the scene to have the tractor trailer and other vehicles towed.  Rescue Company 2 returned to quarters.
