At 0200 on Sunday, November 12, 2007, Wheaton’s Rescue Squad 742 Bravo was dispatched with Kensington and Hillandale fire/rescue units to Bonifant Road in the area of Corona Drive for a possible car vs. deer. While RS742B was responding, M725 found the accident and reported they had a single vehicle with multiple patients. RS742B arrived and initially provided lights for the scene. There were four trauma patients from the vehicle that had collided at high speed with the trees lining the road. The car was moving so fast that the force of the impact separated a rear passenger door from the rest of the vehicle, breaking it at the “C” post or rear roof support. Three of the patients were transported by A724 and M725 to a local hospital. Unfortunately, one of the occupants was priority four. RS742B assisted with care of the patients and secured the vehicle. EMS701 managed care for the injured patients. MCPD’s accident reconstruction team was called in to determine the cause of the collision. RS742B was back in service by 0250.
