An early evening fire in a Lamberton Drive home required a response from multiple fire and rescue apparatus. First on the scene of the blaze in the Kemp Mill community was WVRS Deputy Chief Steve Sobolewski, who was incident commander for the fire. Among the responding units were five WVRS apparatus and fifteen WVRS personnel including WVRS Chief Allan Platky (Rescue Chief 2), Rescue Squad 29, Medic 20 and Ambulance 25. The displaced homeowners received assistance from the Kemp Mill community and the Red Cross. Montgomery County Fire Investigators determined that the cause of the fire was unattended candles.
